Nyamira Deputy Governor has rubbished a recent reshuffle of the committee member executives by his boss, Governor John Nyagarama.

Mr Amos Nyaribo who arrived in the County on Wednesday after a two-week official visit to the US accused the governor of making unilateral decisions without consulting him.

“I am treating what I read in newspapers as rumours because I have not received any communication from him. It is a requirement that he consults in making such important changes,” he said.

The Deputy County boss said he was not happy with the retention of some ECMs and chief officers who are suspected of fleecing the county coffers.

He said many of the executives had not been cleared by the County Assembly and their continuous stay in office was suspect.
“I am against the retention of the officers in question because they have not been cleared by any competent organ or the County Assembly,” he said.

Four executives and two chief officers that go suspended following recommendation by the County Assembly’s Implementation Committee have since been redeployed.

Mr Nyaribo who has also announced his bid for governorship termed the Governor’s reshuffle a sham.

During the reshuffle, Mr Jones Omwenga was picked to head the financial docket which was under Mr Reuben Sinange who has since been taken to the Ministry of Environment.

Public Works will be headed by Eng Kepha Osoro who initially headed the ministry of Environment.

Dr Janet Komenda was transferred from the Ministry of Public Works and will now head that of education and ICT that was initially under Mr Omwenga.
