CASUALTIES
Mrs Duncan said the Probox was heading towards Bondo town and the matatu to Ndori.

Mr Ojwando was alone but the matatu had 10 passengers who sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Referral Hospital.

Police have since launched investigations into the cause of the accident but believe that the slippery road, following the heavy downpour, might have contributed to the incident.

"We have launched investigations into the accident, which led to the death of two people and we will make public the cause of the accident," Mrs Duncan said.

FAMILY
Eric Ojwando, the driver's son, said he was informed of the tragedy by his uncle who heard it on radio.

"My dad gave me some money for lunch and transport and asked me to proceed home in Osieko only for him to fail to come home that evening," he said.
