Ex-MP in early lead for ODM ticket for Tana River top seat

Former Galole MP Dhadho Godhana is on the brink of being declared winner of ODM gubernatorial primaries in Tana River County.

Mr Godhana, who served as assistant minister in the Grand Coalition government, is leading with 4,894 votes from 20 polling stations in Galole constituency.

His closest rival Adam Barisa has managed a paltry 489 votes in the constituency.

The provisional results from 15 out of 30 polling centres in Bura constituency also put Mr Godhana ahead with 1,704 votes with Adam having received 16 votes.

The county ODM elections board is expected to release the official results at the county tallying centre in Hola town once the ongoing tallying exercise is concluded.

So far only votes from Galole constituency have been counted.
