Deputy President William Ruto is expected to issue title deeds to Taita Taveta residents Tuesday as he winds up his five-day tour of the Coast region.

The DP has used the visit in Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi and Taita Taveta to urge residents to register as voters and back the Jubilee Party in the August elections.

Mr Ruto has been dolling out goodies to the residents to entice them to support Jubilee.

The region is perceived to be a Cord stronghold.

The deputy president, who has been criss-crossing the Coast counties since last Friday, will issue title deeds in Ziwani, Taveta.

He will later address rallies in Taveta and Wundanyi towns.

On Monday, Mr Ruto's campaigns got a boost when Taita Taveta Senator Dan Mwazo indicated he was contemplating joining Jubilee.

Mr Mwazo was elected on an ODM ticket in 2013 but has since fallen out with its leadership.

Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, who has since shifted alliance from ODM to Jubilee, said more residents are joining the ruling party.

He said the Jubilee administration had taken the interests of Coast residents at heart and that they would pay back by supporting it.

He lashed out at Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho for "abusing" Jubilee leadership thus side-lining the region from development.

Mr Mvurya named water provision and title deeds as some of Jubilee administration's achievements.
