More than 15 people were Thursday morning injured after the bus they were traveling in rolled at Mbuyuni in Voi, Taita Taveta County.

Confirming the incident, Voi OCPD Joseph Chesire, said the Dream Line bus was heading to Nairobi from Mombasa when it lost control and overturned, with passengers sustaining minor injuries.

Mr Chesire said the accident happened at around 4am.

“The injured were rushed to Moi County Referral Hospital and St Joseph Shelter of Hope in Voi,” he said.

However, the exact number of passengers in the bus could not be established since they had been rushed to nearby hospitals by the time police arrived.

But the OCPD said police had launched investigations to establish the exact cause of the early morning accident.

He urged motorists to be keen as they drive at night to avoid accidents.

“Drivers should ensure that they follow traffic rules and also take enough rest to avoid fatigue,” he said.
