I'm the person to develop Tharaka-Nithi, says Petkay Miriti

Tharaka-Nithi gubernatorial aspirant Petkay Miriti has promised to ensure there is tangible development in the county if elected in the August 8 elections.

Speaking to the Nation on Tuesday, Mr Miriti said there are enough resources to improve the lives of locals if used prudently and vowed to form a county government that addresses the real needs of the people through public participation.

Mr Miriti, who is contesting on the Jubilee Party, also asked the residents to support President Uhuru Kenyatta, whom he said has already shown interest to improve the lives of people living in rural areas through supporting devolution.

“We need to elect leaders who listens and care for their electorate and if given a chance, I will make sure there is visible development and not theories written on paper only,” said Mr Miriti.

He also promised to unite the residents by ensuring that development projects are evenly distributed across the county.

The former Nithi MP called urged residents to vote for him during the party nominations scheduled for April 21.

He will be contesting for the Jubilee ticket together with Chuka/Igambang’ombe MP Muthomi Njuki.
