Abducted school girls rescued in Limuru

Police on Thursday night rescued two girls, who were abducted in the town three days ago.

The Form Four candidates at Ngeria Girls High School in Uasin Gishu County were said to have been kidnapped by unknown people while shopping in Eldoret town on Monday this week.

During the rescue, three suspects, including a woman identified as Ann Njeri and two brothers Paul Maina and Peter Maina were arrested.

Confirming the incident, Eldoret West OCPD Samuel Mutunga said the girls were first detained in a house belonging to one of the suspects at Huruma estate before being transferred to Nairobi.

Mr Mutunga said the suspects moved the students to Nairobi after they discovered they are being tracked by police.

He said police tracked the location of the suspects in Limuru via their mobile phones.

The rescued girls are undergoing medical examination in one of the hospitals in Eldoret town

The OCPD said the three will be taken to court Monday.
