A landlord was on Monday night killed by his tenant at Mailinne area in Eldoret in unclear circumstances.

The deceased, Ali Salim, a miraa trader aged 37 was heading home at midnight when he was attacked by two people.

According to the deceased’s brother Juma Salim, one of the attackers was the tenant.

“He requested some watchmen in adjacent area to escort him home as he felt insecure walking alone at the time of the night. After walking some distance they discovered that some men were following them,” he said.

He told the Nation that the men attacked his brother and those who were escorting him home. One of the attackers hacked his brother with a machete.

Other watchmen in nearby buildings heard the commotion and raised alarm attracting the public who cornered the two attackers.
