Jubilee Party has moved primaries in Murang’a County from Tuesday to Wednesday over logistical challenges.

Mr Andrew Musangi, the party’s National Elections Board chairperson also said those behind burning of ballot papers in Kirinyaga County will be disciplined.

MP in court over nomination chaos

Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi has appeared in court over violence that rocked ODM party nominations at Bomu Primary School, Mombasa.

His plea has been deferred after an application by his lawyers.

Wiper Party has cancelled Machakos gubernatorial nominations set for tomorrow.

The party has now summoned all aspirants for the seat for an urgent meeting.

Change in Jubilee primaries start time

Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has said primaries voting tomorrow and Wednesday will start at 7am and not 6am.

He says no candidate has been disqualified in Eldama Ravine as has been reported by some media outlets.

Mr Tuju has also said that all voters who will be in the queue by 5pm will be allowed to vote.

Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi in court

Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi has been arraigned in a Mombasa court to face charges in relation to violence that rocked ODM party nominations at Bomu Primary School on Saturday.

He has requested to have plea taking deferred for 30 days to allow internal party dispute resolution mechanisms to take place.

The DPP has opposed the application for deferral saying if allowed it will be prejudicial.

Mombasa Chief Magistrate Evans Makori will deliver a ruling at 3pm.

Protests in Mwea, Kirinyaga County as voters apprehend returning officer and hand him to over police over allegations of rigging in Jubilee primaries.

Kirinyaga governorship aspirant Anne Waiguru says ballot papers for the governor’s election are missing in seven polling stations in Mwea Constituency.

Confusion in Homa Bay ODM primaries

Confusion and uncertainty has marred ODM nominations in Homa Bay County over delays in supply of voting materials to polling stations in the area.

Aspirants claim there are marked ballot papers to aid in rigging in rivals.

A Toyota Probox car was allegedly overturned by angry residents at Nyatoto trading centre in Suba South Constituency after being suspected of ferrying marked ballot papers.

Slow start in Baringo, Nandi, Elgeyo-Marakwet

Nominations have started slowly in Baringo, Nandi and Elgeyo-Marakwet with few complaints being reported.

So far, there have been no complaints about inadequate ballot papers.

In Eldama Ravine Constituency, voting materials were still being distributed as late as 8am following late arrival from Nairobi.

Jubilee Party elections officials were picking the ballot papers and boxes from the sub-county commissioner's office in Eldama Ravine Town.

In Elgeyo-Marakwet, voting was underway as early as 7am although voters complained about the use of the 2013 IEBC register to identify them.

In Nandi, voting started without major hitches although distribution of voting materials was delayed.

Jubilee primaries begin

Jubilee Party nominations have kicked off in Kirinyaga, Bomet, Baringo, Nandi and Elgeyo-Marakwet counties with most polling stations being open by 6am.

Most polling stations in Kirinyaga County were open by 6am and voting started at 6.30am.

Ballot papers being used this time round are black and white unlike those used in the failed Friday polls which were coloured.
