Jubilee denies summoning leaders

Jubilee Party's head of communications Albert Memusi says that he is not aware of any summons to politicians to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee.

He, however, confirmed is that the disciplinary committee is meeting to deliberate on the chaos that have recently rocked the party.

Mr Memusi says that they committee is looking into the evidence presented by the complainants and it will then make a decision based on it.

"The party can't make decision to summon people just based on what has been published but we have to look at the evidence presented before making the summons.” – Memusi.

Wiper announces dates for primaries

Wiper Democratic Movement, an affiliate of the National Super Alliance (Nasa) has announced dates for party nominations.

The nominations will be held on April 18, 21, 23 and 24.

Gikaria not aware of Jubilee summons

12.50pm

Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria has said he is not aware of any summons to appear before the Jubilee Disciplinary Committee.

Earlier in the morning reports indicated that the committee had summoned some Jubilee leaders following chaos witnessed during the picking of county election boards.

Those said to have been summoned are Senator Mike Sonko (Nairobi), Governor Mwangi Wa Iria (Murang’a), Governor Joseph Ndathi (Kirinyaga) and Mr Gikaria.

They were supposed to appear before the committee at 11am.

Mr Gikaria says if summoned, he will present himself before the committee to shed light on the chaos that marred the Jubilee party elections board polls last Monday.

Kalonzo meets Wiper delegates

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is meeting party delegates at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi to discuss the forthcoming nominations.

Some of the leaders accompanying Mr Musyoka are senators Mutula Kilonzo Jr (Makueni), Johnson Muthama (Machakos), David Musila (Kitui) and Mr Chirau Ali Mwakwere.

Raila meets women aspirants

ODM party leader Raila Odinga is meeting women aspirants at the Multimedia University.

Mr Odinga has dismissed claims of links to the IEBC system tender terming them as “Jubilee rubbish”.

Mr Odinga says he doesn't even want to discuss the issue because it is of no substance.
