Jubilee to announce dates for primaries

Jubilee Party will tomorrow announce dates for its nominations in counties.

National Elections Board Vice-Chairperson Vesca Kangogo has said the party will also clarify which positions the nominations will start with.

Maendeleo Chap Chap supports Uhuru

Maendeleo Chap Chap leader, Dr Alfred Mutua, has said his party is neither in Jubilee Party nor in the Nasa coalition.

However, he says the party supports President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election because they share the same vision.

He says President Kenyatta deserves a chance to complete the work that he started.

Tight security at Jubilee polls in Murang’a

Security has been beefed up at the Murang’a Teachers College as the Jubilee Party Elections County Board is picked.

Only aspirants have been allowed to the venue with their vehicles being parked outside the compound.

At least 50 police officers were deployed to ensure that the elections are peaceful.

Deputy County Commander Johnstone Limo warned against any chaos.

"If anyone attempts to disrupt the meeting we will deal with them." - Mr Limo
Amani changes nomination dates

Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC), has moved its nominations from April 3 to between April 9 and 26.

ANC has cited demands by IEBC for parties to review nomination rules as the reason for the change of dates.

With 133 days remaining before the August 8 general election, politicians will today be going round the country in their bid to woo Kenyans to vote for them.

Kalonzo rally in Emali Town

The National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka will take his vote hunt to Emali, Makueni County.

Mr Musyoka, the Wiper Democratic Party leader, will hold the joint rally with National Rainbow Coalition (Narc) leader Charity Ngilu, Chama Cha Uzalendo’s Wavinya Ndeti, and Mutua Katuku of the People’s Trust Party.

The three leaders have rallied behind him in the race to fly the Nasa flag in the August elections.

Amani press conference

Meanwhile, Mr Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress will this morning hold a press conference on the party’s and Nasa joint nominations.

Last week, the party National Elections Board had said that a decision on where and how Nasa joint nominations will be held had not been arrived at.

Alfred Mutua meets Chap Chap aspirants

At the same time, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua will host hundreds of aspirants on his Maendeleo Chap Chap party ticket at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

The meeting which will start from 9am and end at 12pm will discuss the party’s nomination rules and the party structure.
