A pair of frisky donkeys have been reunited at a Polish zoo.

The two donkeys, Antonina and Napoleon, are said to have been in love for ten years, but were separated by workers at Poznan Zoo in Poland after complaints that the animal's raunchy love-making was inappropriate for children.

The issue had become a controversial topic of conversation in Poland with politicians and public figures weighing in on the decision, with varying views.

Stefan Niesiolowski of the governing party Civic Platform said: "Animals separated by sex into different cages? It's complete idiocy."

However, a petition to reunite the star-crossed lovers received over 7000 signatures, and the zoo has now reversed it's decision and decided that the amorous donkeys - who have six offspring together - can live together once more.
