Gospel artiste Jimmy Gait was feeling sufficiently philanthropic during his New Year performance as he decided to employ the tried and tested way of engaging fans by dishing out money to his fans. Showbuzz has learnt that Gait gave out Sh20,000 to his fans. Performing at the Nakuru Athletics Club, the "Muhathara" hitmaker called up fans to the stage in the middle of his performance and handed cash prices to a lucky few.

This obviously was a publicity stunt right? For him, it was not.

“My fans have made me who I am that’s why I take every chance to give back to them; seeing excitement in their face gives me the strength to carry on. There is nothing wrong with appreciating those who mean the most to you, isn’t that what Christmas is all about?”

Jimmy Gait headlined the Nakuru edition of Groove Party alongside DJ Mo, Mercy Masika, Eunice Njeri, Bahati and a host of other artistes.
