What you need to know:

  • A jacket: This is a festival must-have that will keep you warm when day turns to night. While denim jackets look good, leather jackets will give you more warmth.

  • A satchel bag: Easy and carefree, sling it across your body for it not to interfere with your dancing.

Festival season is finally here. Every weekend is filled with some sort of outdoor music event and your wardrobe will obviously need quite some consideration.

Going to a festival is a test of endurance and as such your “wardrobe” should be a survival kit. Some style essentials to make the experience easier include:

The perfect denim-cut offs: The number one go-to look, nothing screams festival fashion like denim cut offs. Pair them with a loose fitting 60s inspired graffiti tank or a belly revealing crop top for a more youthful look.

Flat or low chunky ankle boots: These boots were made for walking. Choose durable, but stylish footwear that’s ideal for spending hours dancing.

While open toe bright sandals would perfectly complement the higher temperatures, wearing boots saves you the hassle of carrying two pairs of shoes for when temperatures dip at night.

A flower power dress: Long bohemian dresses are a quick and effortless look that will make you feel as carefree as an inebriated Seventies hippy.

The headband: Has long been a favourite staple accessory of the festival-bound. To update the trend that probably isn’t going away anytime soon, opt for a bejewelled crown to replace the headband made of flowers and feathers. It’s a regal with just a little bit of sass!

Mirrored Sunglasses: Shield your eyes from the UV rays as you secretly look out for possible new connections. As festivals can get a little chaotic, it’s best to bring out a cool pair as opposed to your favourite pair.

Wide brim hats: To keep the suns glare away and add to the bohemian festival feel.

A jacket: This is a festival must-have that will keep you warm when day turns to night. While denim jackets look good, leather jackets will give you more warmth.

A satchel bag: Easy and carefree, sling it across your body for it not to interfere with your dancing.

The ultimate combination of fashion and music, festivals are the perfect place to show off your style and a time to experiment with new trends that you wouldn’t ordinarily wear.

The 70s inspiration is big this season, so think earthy tones and wide leg pants for that hippy vibe. Have a great week beautiful people.
