The jury is still out on whether secular turned gospel musician Bobby Mapesa really found the Lord. He is, however, trying to convince his fans and music industry players that he is saved — through his first single 'Nisamehe' as a gospel musician. But one top gospel deejay is not buying that.

Mapesa declined to reveal the identity of the respected deejay but told Showbuzz that the deejay said Nisamehe “is not gospel enough.”

He in particular took issue with the line “…Mungu nisamehe ka nilikukosea...” saying Mapesa does not sound sincere or humble and that he should change the lyrics.

“I was confused; I didn’t understand how much more gospel he wanted the song to get. He asked me five times if I’m really saved. I left the song with him and he told me to go back and see him after one hour after presenting it to a meeting,” he said.

Mapesa says he felt unfairly judged, especially since he is new to the gospel scene and is still finding his way after being in secular music for long.
