What you need to know:

  • “I have to kill it because the church is looking at me. I think I have done enough Kenyan collaborations but you never know… its time I started winning the African market. If Coke Studio sees the potential then it means they have seen something big in me,” he said.

Gospel singer Bahati has become the first gospel musician to take part in the music reality show Coke Studio.

“I don’t know the criteria they used to research and choose me but I guess they wanted the top gospel artiste,” a chuckling Bahati told Showbuzz in a humble brag moment.

Bahati has been paired with Nigerian pop singer Kiss Daniel and says it was a good surprise having to work with an artiste from Nigerian. This will be his second Nigerian collaboration. He however declined to disclose the name of the other artiste with whom he is about to release a song with saying he wanted it to be a surprise.

“I have to kill it because the church is looking at me. I think I have done enough Kenyan collaborations but you never know… its time I started winning the African market. If Coke Studio sees the potential then it means they have seen something big in me,” he said.

Bahati also has a big surprise for his fans which he again, for now, does not want to reveal and the only details he gives is the date, June 28 where he will officially launch “Bahati Tena”.
