Rapper Gabu, of popular rap group P-Unit together with fellow rapper Kristoff were last week unveiled as the faces of Huduma Card, the first government owned multipurpose card that allows people to make or receive payments.

The two will be the ambassadors for one year and if all goes well, Gabu hopes they might probably extend the contract.

The rapper, however, did not disclose how much he is making from the deal but said the partnership is ideal for his brand as well.

“Of course the money is good but I can’t tell you how much. But it’s something great for the people, an initiative that will make their lives easier and possibly even change a generation. I have a brand too so I’m really careful who or what I work and associate with,” he said.

The P-Unit member further added that it is another way of giving back to his fans that have been supporting him since he began his career about 13 years ago.

“This is to encourage other upcoming artistes that it takes patience and hard work, it’s been over a decade since I was at Calif (Records) with one of my first singles like Paulina, and here I am today,” he said.

Gabu also says that his new gig in no way suggests that he is pulling away from P-Unit.

“This is just the beginning for me but that does not mean I’m in any way separating myself from P-Unit. If anything, it creates room for healthy growth since we compete among ourselves and we always want the best for each other,” he told Showbuzz.
