If you think singer Jimmi Gait spends time wallowing in self-pity because of the memes that are shared on social media mocking his song choices and titles, then think again. If anything, they keep making him relevant. Gait, recently released a new song titled Love and while speaking at the song’s launch said he has nothing but love towards the people who create the memes.
“I want to respond to all these memes that have been going round about me. Some of the people with intentions to taint my name, bring me down or just make fun of me think they are going to crash me or affect me. But they don’t understand that I already know who I am, where I am going and what God says about me and there’s nothing that can change that,” he said.
“And because I know my position, what people say does not necessarily define who I am. So you go ahead and say whatever but I’m busy working, pushing and grinding. You can hit me with hate but I will respond with love,” says Gait.
While he did not go into details, the "Yesu Ndiye Sponsor" singer revealed that some time back he went through a tough time where he lost everything.
“There’s a time things became so rough and I lost everything I had worked for, for years. I slept with so much and woke up with nothing. People didn’t know because I don’t expose my life. But the thing is, when everything was gone, there was one thing I wouldn’t lose; I can lose the cars and friends but I can never lose hope because that’s what keeps you going when everything else has stalled,” he added.  “I bounced back and I’m probably 20 or 30 times better than where I was before.”
