Last Wednesday evening, one of Kenya’s most philanthropic musicians, Jaguar, launched his new foundation Jaguar Youth Empowerment Foundation.

The foundation was launched at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre by Deputy President William Ruto, who is now its patron.

The DP, who praised Jaguar for his philanthropy, also made a personal donation of Sh1 million to the foundation. Conspicuously missing was Nairobi senator Mike Sonko, who has been Jaguar’s close friend for a long time.

From the musicians’ side, gospel singer Ringtone, who has had a love-hate relationship with Jaguar, was also missing.

We are informed Sonko was away in Dubai on holiday with his family and while everyone agrees that family comes first, many didn’t understand how he missed the event.

Other political leaders present included Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu, Gatundu MP Moses Kuria as well as former Naivasha MP and current Nacada chairman John Mututho.

Popular artistes like Daddy Owen, Nameless, Jua Cali, Kidum, Mejja, Size 8, Elani, among many others, were present to support his initiative.
