Tanzanian artiste says Avril is fake and cannot sing, but the Kenyan is unfazed

A Tanzanian musician is claiming that Kenyan songstress Avril is not as talented as everyone thinks she is. The musician, who goes by the stage name AT, was speaking to a Tanzanian radio station where he said Avril sounded horrible on the song they were collaborating on and that he had to do away with her part and get someone else to replace her. This he says happened in 2010.

“I went to Ogopa Deejays to work on a song with Avril but I had to remove her part from the song because she is not an artiste. What you expect to hear and what you get are two different things, she is very fake, and I was surprised. I knew her name is big and I thought she was really talented. But when I tried to partner with her it was a difficult task. I had to look for someone else, the first thing I usually look at is the talent, not who you are. You can’t believe how badly she sang, I have never released that song…” he told Clouds FM.

However users on social media have dismissed AT’s claims and labelled him an irrelevant and washed out musician who is just seeking attention.

Although Avril did not directly respond to him, this is the message she wrote on her Instagram.

“Life is too short for you to allow irrelevant people to steal your joy. Happiness is a decision so chin up soldier. You live to fight another day …” she wrote.
