What you need to know:

  • It is evident how much effort he puts in his craft when the finished product comes out. Having ended 2013 on a very high note, dropping more than 5 chart topping singles and crowning it all with an album, Rabbit has without doubt proven to be King.
  • Verse two is the man of the hour Rabbit and as usual he owns his tracks.

If there is any other hard working and consistent Kenyan artist other than Rabbit it must be Kaka Sungura. Kaka Sungura’s work ethics as an artist is something many of his peers and counterparts in the industry should emulate.

It is evident how much effort he puts in his craft when the finished product comes out. Having ended 2013 on a very high note, dropping more than 5 chart topping singles and crowning it all with an album, Rabbit has without doubt proven to be King.

Teaming up with Africa’s rap heavyweight, South Africa’s Hip-Hop Pantsula (HHP) and new school rap queen Wangeci, Rabbit blessed us with a classic, ‘Tulia Tu’. I termed it ‘classic’ for many reasons; one being the Legendary Tim Rimbui is on production, together with Provoke.

HHP has the opening verse and as usual he comes correct. Though you may not get half of what he’s saying if you’re Kenyan, he throws in some Swahili.

Verse two is the man of the hour Rabbit and as usual he owns his tracks. Now the other exciting part about this track is the fact that Wangeci was featured in it, this lass brings the real back, it’s exciting listening to her, it’s almost as if she came from the ‘musical past’ and without doubt has the best verse.

The most satisfying element of ‘Tulia Tu’ is the timing of its release. The track feels like it is exactly what the industry needs, as it offers a genuine, grass root experience, which seems to encapsulate everything that hip-hop has to offer.
