Urgent medical funds drive for author Binyavanga Wainanina

An urgent medical treatment fund has been set up for Kenyan author Kenneth Binyanvanga Wainanina who suffered a stroke on October 31. Binyavanga was admitted at the ICU at Karen hospital where he was expected to undergo MRI and CT scans.

As a result of the stroke, he later developed physical complications on November 13 and was admitted to the Nairobi Hospital.

Doctors advised that Binyavanga “has a chronic condition that affects the blood vessels to the brain making him susceptible to blockages and strokes. His friends and family are appealing for financial assistance to provide medical care in India.
