What you need to know:

  • Since this woman has clearly moved on, fight to be in your son’s life.
  • He deserves that and he had nothing to do with what happened between you and his mother.

Hello Brenda,

I was in a relationship with a campus girl from 2010 to 2016. We got a son. She suddenly broke off the relationship with accusations that I was cheating never mind that she had no evidence of it and I was not cheating. She went away and started dating other men. Now she says I should forget my son and move on with my life. Should I let him go?

The answer is simple, no. A real man does what he needs to do to take care of his own.

The reason you are in this dilemma is that you are confusing the relationship you had with this girl with the relationship you should have with your son. These are two utterly different relationships.

Since this woman has clearly moved on, fight to be in your son’s life. He deserves that and he had nothing to do with what happened between you and his mother. Shift your focus to him. Ignore the side shows.
