Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

First warning - do not watch this if you did not watch Gilmore Girls. The revival of the popular show (as everyone seems to be falling in line with revivals of everything – what next? Friends?) is done in four-hour long chunks that take you on a wistful walk through times past, all the while trying to tie up loose ends and give everyone a glance of their old, favourite characters, or at least a mention, for those who couldn’t show up to this nostalgia fest. You probably won’t like it if you weren’t already a fan, and if you were, then you might get the sense that they are trying too hard to give everyone what they wanted from the old show, starting with snappy conversation (yes!) and a tribute to Edward Herrmann, to pop culture references that feel forced, but we forgive. Maybe we can start to accept that some things do have to end?
