BOOK REVIEW: Roses for Betty and other stories (The Writivism Anthology 2015)

What you need to know:

  • The aim is to find really good stories on the continent and whittle them into the good stuff.
  • The shortlisted stories are then compiled into an anthology.  Get it at Magunga Bookstore. And tell me the must-visit places in Kampala.

I figured since I am heading for Writivism this week, I may as well review the anthology that was compiled for the 2015 stories. Writivism is an expansive festival that takes place in Uganda every year, (this year, it is happening around the same time as the Babishai Niwe Poetry Festival – two for the price of one trip, you could say) as a culmination of Writivism workshops held all over Africa throughout the year.
