SERIES REVIEW: Pacific Heat

Pacific Heat was more like Pacific Bleat. Underwhelming. PHOTO| FILE

What you need to know:

  • Pacific Heat is supposed to be about Australian investigators fighting crime undercover.
  • Pacific Heat takes its comedy far too seriously.
  • Maybe because they are repeating a formula that’s already been done.

With this show, I had no choice but to agree with the critics – it really is no Archer, and watching it just reminds you how much of not Archer it is.

Pacific Heat is supposed to be about Australian investigators fighting crime undercover, but they’re such dunces, that half the time you can’t believe that all these things are being allowed to fly – which is exactly why I don’t like it.

And yes, that is the same premise as Archer, but Pacific Heat takes its comedy far too seriously, in a strange slapstick way, unlike Archer, who you know is joking pretty much the whole time.

Or at least he must be? Ok, I don’t know why this show is worse.

Maybe because they are repeating a formula that’s already been done, but whatever the reason, Pacific Heat was more like Pacific Bleat.

Underwhelming.
