What you need to know:

  • I was unable to stomach it and so only got two episodes in. Maybe it’s one of those shows that gets better when you get to episode 6, much like how I felt about Insecure.

I’ve heard mostly good reviews about this show, but for some reason, I was unable to stomach it and so only got two episodes in. Maybe it’s one of those shows that gets better when you get to episode 6, much like how I felt about Insecure.

This show is an animated series about a group of friends who have just begun to experience puberty and all the confusion that comes with it – but make no mistake, it isn’t a show for teenagers.

They hyperbolise the emotions of the teens and proceed to create exaggerated scenarios that go along with these emotions.

And, they have imaginary friends – although ‘friends’ may be a strong word to use – that kind of give insight into what makes these kids act the way they do.

The humour is a bit left for me, but give it a try and see how you feel about it.
