What you need to know:

  • Make a big change in the way you rebound. Use it as a chance to shine and excel at things you thought you could never do.

When you have a good dose of inner strength, your ability to bounce back from anything will manifest itself just when you need it.

The only person who can really write you off is yourself. When you have been down, for whatever reason – be it illness, work or life setbacks or anything else, the only place to go is up. This is achieved by putting a spring in your attitude, seeking divine intervention and finally bouncing back. Here are a few practical tips on getting you started.

Bouncing back after an illness

After recovering from an illness, it is common to begin to appreciate just how much you can do. The things you once took for granted now mean a lot. Use this change of attitude to give you the motivation you need to get back on track. Try to remember how helpless you felt when you were bedridden and that you are now in a position to meet your goals.  This thought is enough to give you impetus to get out there again and prove yourself.

Be discreet

On the road to recovery it is very easy to become discouraged when things are not quite working out as planned. To this end, it pays to be discreet. When asked what you are doing, simply say that you are between things. And because you are more likely to be touchy as you work your way up again, ensure that all conversations about your situation are positive.

Be different

Make a big change in the way you rebound. Use it as a chance to shine and excel at things you thought you could never do.

For example, you may wish to use your experience to help others who are going through what had caused you to go down. You can do this by mentoring and counselling people. This could even be the start of a new and successful career, considering present needs

If you were forced by circumstances to cut back on your expenditure, use it as a chance to learn how to live on less even when you do not have to.  You may consider making your comeback in a way that presents you as a new and improved version of your former self. Make it work for you to give you a chance to be appreciated more than ever.
