Colour:

The modern Maasai shuka comes in a variety of colours other than the traditional red and blue. Be bold and look for bright colours that complement the shuka well to use in your designs. White complements the traditional red plus the modern variety of colours make it easier to mix it up with other interesting colours.

Print:

The shuka is available in various prints now from small checks plaids to bold laundry basket plaids. Opt for the small checks for a conservative look that blends in easily with your current wardrobe.

Jackets/ coats:
