As you gear up for the next round of World Cup games you may want to cheer on your teams in style.

However, finding football jerseys for women is a daunting task and this forces many women to wear men’s jerseys. This calls for creativity and customisation. Here are a few handy tips to help you achieve that:

Customise male jerseys: Most of the male jerseys available in the market are big and baggy. Get them adjusted and resized for a better fit. Customise them by adjusting necklines, or altering them to crop tops that can be layered with a vest or wear an oversize jersey as a dress.

Team colours: You can go all out and be bold with team colours. You can also fuse all the team colours together or just pick one colour. Accents of the team colours fused into your existing wardrobe would also work.

Work with your closet: Work with what you already have in your wardrobe. It could be plaid shirts, vests, dresses, etc., in shades close to the colours of the team that you support. These will pass without you having to spend money on new clothes. Colour blocking using respective team colours from your closet is also an option.

Accessories: This is the easiest way to get team colours. Invest in scarves, bold neckpieces, earrings, bangles, belts or hats. These are available cheaply but pick wisely so you are able to get a lot of wear from them i.e. instead of buying a branded scarf opt for a plain pashmina in team colours you can reuse once the games are over.

Make-up and hair: Make-up and hair done tastefully in team colours looks grand. You can either choose to go all out or be subtle.
