Evicted Kenyan representative in “Big Brother Africa”, Melvin Alusa, has thanked those who voted for him, saying he would use the experience positively to improve his acting career.

Alusa, who played Nurse Jeff on the medical television drama series “Saints”, told Nation.co.ke on Tuesday that he looks forward to coming back home.

“I love and greatly miss my wife and three children as the seven weeks we have been away from each other have been too long for me,” said Alusa during a phone interview.

The actor was the first male contestant to be evicted in the reality show after six ladies had exited the house in the first three weeks.

“The game was like a roller coaster, it had its ups and downs. I made friends and rubbed others the wrong way, but, hey, it’s a game and am glad I came this far,” stated Alusa.

He will jet back into the country on Wednesday evening and hopes to continue with his acting career and venture into the radio industry.

“I am a (lively) person and having to interact with fellow contestants in the house on Africa’s spotlight has opened me up to want to venture into the media industry,” he added.

Alusa thanked his parents for their support along with his friends, whom he hopes to meet at the airport when he arrives.

LOOKING FORWARD TO BEING IN KENYA

“Am looking forward to being in Kenya and reuniting with my family and friends as I start making my next career moves,” he added.

Tanzania’s Laveda was optimistic that her exit from the show won’t be the end of her love for playing the saxophone, saying that she hopes to fully venture into music and roll out gigs in different countries.

“I want to meet the great Sauti Sol band and possibly even do a collabo with them since Kenya and Tanzania’s music industry is growing and there is so much to borrow from each other,” she added.

An elated Laveda thanked her fellow countrymen for voting for her and vowed to keep the fire burning by taking her career to the next level.

“We did our best in the house and am glad to have represented my country in a good way,” added Laveda during a phone interview.

The two housemates were evicted from the ninth season of the reality show after only three weeks in the house.
