Burial date for fallen Mugithi star set

  • The late Salim Junior’s musical journey began after completing his high school education, when he joined the Apostolic Faith Church as a  guitarist.

  • Later on, he joined the late Sammy Muraya’s band (Subukia Success) and the late Queen Jane’s Queen Les Les band, before going it alone in 1997.

Fans of fallen Mugithi star, Paul Mwangi Salim alias Salim Junior who passed on last week will have a chance to pay their last respects to the renowned artiste come next week.

The burial service of the late musician who died last Saturday at War Memorial Hospital in Nakuru is planned for Tuesday February 2nd at his home in Arasha village, Subukia. 

By the time of his death last week January 23, 2015, the late Salim was believed to be suffering from pneumonia and chest infection.

The late Salim Junior’s musical journey began after completing his high school education, when he joined the Apostolic Faith Church as a  guitarist.

Later on, he joined the late Sammy Muraya’s band (Subukia Success) and the late Queen Jane’s Queen Les Les band, before going it alone in 1997. Throughout his career, he thrilled fans with hits like “Sarafina” and “Muti Uyu Mukwona”. At the time of his death, he was 41 years old.
