For four decades, has been on a mission to make women as glamorous as their day dreams.

The self-confessed lover of women is unapologetic in his sensual approach towards designing clothes be it for a made-to-order red carpet grown or a cocktail dress for his Just Cavalli line.

The 74-year-old designer began his career in 1979 when he invented and patented a printing procedure on leather and started creating patchworks of different materials.

He debuted these techniques in Paris, immediately getting commissions from the likes of Hermès and Pierre Cardin. He later presented his first namesake collection at the Salon for Prêt-à-Porter in Paris which became his main line; Roberto Cavalli. In addition he now designs RC Menswear, Just Cavalli, the Class line, two underwear collections, shoes, eyewear, watches and perfumes.

He is best known for explosions of exotic prints and colours, goddess gowns, sexy ruffles, cool rocker looks and for creating the sand-blasted look for jeans.

The veteran designer has worked with a host of A-List celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Halle Berry, Victoria Beckham and Sharon Stone among others.

In December 2014 the label announced that Anaconda rapper Nicki Minaj would be the face of the Roberto Cavalli spring/summer 2015 campaign.

In a statement with the announcement, the designer gave insight into his choice; “I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman. In recent years we have become accustomed to women castigated in clothes that hide their body shapes.

With this campaign, I wanted to send a strong countertrend message. I wanted a sensual woman who is aware of her body – who is not afraid to show her curves. Instead, she makes them her strength,”

Have a great week beautiful people.
