Diamond : I applaud Wema for speaking out

‘Nitampata Wapi’ hitmaker Diamond Platinumz has weighed in on his ex-girlfriend Wema Sepetu’s revelation that she has been trying unsuccessfully to conceive.

Wema, a model and a renowned bongo movie actress, revealed last week in an emotional lengthy post on Instagram that she would have wanted to have a child but she can’t. This was after she was attacked by some of her fans, who questioned her childlessness when she congratulated her friend Hamisa Mobeto for her bundle of joy.

CAME TO HER DEFENCE

Some fans claimed that her inability to have children was the reason Diamond dumped her for current girlfriend Zari Hassan, who is now pregnant, but the musician has come to her defence, criticising those who attacked his ex.

Speaking to Tanzanian radio program “Nga’ri Nga’ri”, Diamond said he was well aware of Wema’s condition and that they had tried visiting several medical specialists to treat her but without success. He says it got to a point that he advised Wema to accept her condition and live with it.

“While we were dating, I knew of her condition of not being able to conceive. Together, we visited several medical experts to see if she could get help but without success.

It got to some point that she was so frustrated and I advised her to accept fate and live with it,” Diamond said when he was asked if he knew about Wema’s condition when they were dating.

Diamond praised Wema for being courageous by speaking out and revealing the truth about her condition.

“Personally, I was hurt by some irritating comments that were directed to her, (and) it wasn’t fair for her to be treated like that because she too is human. But on the contrary I must applaud her for being courageous enough to speak out,” Diamond added.
