What you need to know:

  • I made a promise to God if He will enable me to speak English I will minister in that language, indeed God is great, today I can speak, write, preach and sing in English.

Syaviha Mulengya B. Ka-situluhe started singing when he was just nine years old.

By the time he was 15 years old, this evangelist and gospel artiste could compose songs, write plays, sing and preach.

When his pastors discovered that he was gifted, they helped him to develop and use these gifts effectively.

COULD NOT COMMUNICATE IN ENGLISH OR KISWAHILI

When Syaviha first arrived in Kenya, could not communicate in English or Kiswahili.

“I had no money to go to college but I took courage. I had a French Bible that had English translations so I taught myself the language.

I made a promise to God if He will enable me to speak English I will minister in that language, indeed God is great, today I can speak, write, preach and sing in English.

He can now speak 5 languages: French, English, Swahili, Lingala and Kinande which is his mother tongue.

"I love learning new languages; I speak a bit of local languages,” he says.

He is a motivational speaker, an actor, a composer, a teacher, a musician, a writer, a preacher, and a radio and TV presenter.
He adds, “I have composed over 500 songs, and also recorded over 1000 audio messages on peace and hope.

I have written more than 30 brochures on different topics and I have distributed them to 15 countries in Africa. I give them free of charge."

"Our problem will become a history if we persevere. No need to give up, we have what it takes to shine. Challenges should not scare but motivate us," he concludes.
