FBI dance crew to represent Kenya in Las Vegas

  • In June last year the popular local dancers were among the surprise finalists at a world dance competition in France called Faites Danser Le Monde.

  • The competition saw dancers from Brazil, Greece and Europe battle all night for the chance to win the title. The Kenyan dance crew won France over with their emotive choreography, using dance to tell the story of the Garissa University terrorist attack. 

The high-flying FBI dance crew will once again have the chance to fly the Kenyan flag high in the United States,  where they will compete with the world’s best dancers.

The crew will represent Kenya at this year’s World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 3-15). They will be battling it out with over 250 teams from 50 countries.

The crew took to social media to break the good news: “From the slums of Majengo to France, Dubai, South Africa and San Diego, California and now this August we will be representing our country in Las Vegas, Nevada for the world hip hop international…please keep us in your prayers…God bless you”(sic),” they posted.

SURPRISE FINALISTS

The competition saw dancers from Brazil, Greece and Europe battle all night for the chance to win the title. The Kenyan dance crew won France over with their emotive choreography, using dance to tell the story of the

Garissa University terrorist attack.

It was an incredibly moving piece that reduced the whole audience and especially the judges to tears. After the France competition the same year, they managed to beat a number of teams to reach the semi-finals in San Diego, California.
