Kanye West: Obama and I are close

Kanye West has claimed he is close friends with US president Obama.

In his speech, made to at least 350 students of Oxford University, the "Yeezus" singer went on his characteristic rant where he claimed a tight relationship with Obama.

“I understand that I’m a servant. And with my voice, with my ability to build relationships with amazing people, speak to amazing people. Call Elon Musk out of the blue, or call Obama out of the blue … he calls the home phone, by the way.”

The rapper who is married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian, also came up with a strange list of requests ahead of his speech at the prestigious university.

According to Oxford University students quoted in the University’s TheTab, Kanye was very specific in demands.

EXACTING DEMANDS

He reportedly asked for raw asparagus, bottles of water with the labels removed and a full-length mirror after he was invited to speak at Oxford University last Monday.

The university Chairman Abbas Kazmi told The Tab: "He wanted Volvic water bottles with the labels removed, a small veggie platter, hummus, and hot water.

"He also wanted a small variety of tea bags, double espresso available to be made if requested, and raw asparagus.

While it is likely that the rapper was on a vegetarian diet and did not want to be seen endorsing a brand in requesting the removal of all labels, his other requirement left the students bewildered.

"He asked for a full sized mirror too. We couldn't buy one at short notice... So one girl on committee just had to carry hers out of her room. He's an interesting guy, but it was all quite bizarre."

In his talk, he admitted that his ego was his greatest weakness.

“One of my biggest Achilles heels has been my ego. And if I, Kanye West, the very person, can remove my ego, I think there’s hope for everyone,” he said.
