What you need to know:

  • Listening to it, you can’t help but feel like taking your “heart’s thief” to a place where you would treat them to whatever they asked for, and just keep them happy for the rest of your lives together.

It is difficult to define Tetu Shani’s style of music as he is different and not afraid of showing it.

His “Chemistry” track, a collaboration with Mayonde, is about to two lovers carried by different currents, drift into each other and decide to never drift apart again according to Tetu’s SoundCloud.

Listening to it, you can’t help but feel like taking your “heart’s thief” to a place where you would treat them to whatever they asked for, and just keep them happy for the rest of your lives together.

The song lures one in, almost like a hallucinogen, and would be the perfect track to play on intimate dates.  The electric guitar plays a key role in this aspect, but also the vocal performance by both artistes to create a mellow, soft sound (even when Mayonde hits high notes) that holds your attention while creating a whole flurry of emotions.

There’s an electronic sample of ocean splash that is heard at some points of the song, playing in the background, and the song takes you inadvertently to a utopic paradise.

His most personal songs contain his signature guitar-plucking style that put you in such a mood, that you’re most likely going to play those tracks on loop. At least that’s how I find myself listening to them. His “An Ode to Pa” track was also another trance-inducing track that I once looped for close to an hour, one Saturday afternoon.

The hook on this particular song “I’ve been waiting for you to come clean about your love for me, I love you too” is just the perfect summary.
