What you need to know:

  • She’s not only a singer, but she also delivers her shows through witty, sometimes funny, sometimes thought evoking narratives.

Prisca Ojwang’ may not be a household name at the moment, but she looks set to be.

Doing her first solo concert at a show dubbed ‘Me, Myself & I’, she gave a stellar two hour performance to the music-lovers at the Michael Joseph Centre, in Westlands.

She’s not only a singer, but she also delivers her shows through witty, sometimes funny, sometimes thought evoking narratives.

She talks about her journey through to her musical realisation, and one thing that the audience can agree on is that she is as comfortable singing as she is dancing.

Backed by a band of equally abled instrumentalists and background vocalists, Prisca or Prinyo as referred to by her close friends, livened the auditorium with hits like “Lies I told Me”, “Chali chali” and “Elusive Girl”.

During a change-of-costume break, Andrew Wanjohi from Taraji Band did an Afro-fusion-Neo-Soul song titled “Kwaheri”.

The concertgoers demanded an encore from Prisca, to which she obliged.
