Paint manufacturer, Crown Paints, has launched a mobile application that enhances accuracy in the selection of colour schemes.

Crown Colour App, which will be available on both Google Play Store and App Store, is capable of distinguishing over 1,000 colour shades and giving their codes to users.

Crown Paints chief executive Rakesh Rao said the application will make it easier for customers to accurately choose their desired colour shades.

“This makes all the colour shades we have in our showrooms virtual and accessible everywhere. Colour has become a lifestyle and this will transform style beyond interior decoration,” Mr Rao said.

Professionals, who work with colours such as painters, fashion designers, stylists and graphic designers, will also find the mobile app useful.

The company says the initiative is aimed at make painting easier for its customers even as it identifies the nearest crown dealers in the locality.

The application can detect the difference between wall space, furniture, fixtures and paints around contours in real time.

Crown Paints say the new technology is another first in Africa after the launch of its fragrance paints in March.
