A man tried to hijack a plane using a chocolate bar.

Antti Oskari Manselius from Finland tried to take control of a Hong-Kong bound flight while holding a bar of Toblerone "like a sword" and demanded that the cabin crew to fly the plane to the Sochi Olympics in Russia.

The 23-year-old - who also made false bomb threats during the long haul flight - wrapped blankets around his head and wore another as a cape as he made his way towards to the cockpit.

According to The Daily Mirror newpaper, flight attendant Leung Hiu-lun said during a court hearing in Hong Kong: "He was furious. He made me feel like he was trying to endanger the aircraft.

"He said, 'I am robbing the plane now. I want to see the Olympics in Sochi and I need to get off the plane now."

However, Mr Manselius insists he had no real intention of taking over the plane and was simply "making fun and jokes" to amuse the other passengers.
