Homes and businesses worth billions of shillings near Wilson airport face demolition over security concerns.

About 400 houses, a hotel and Uchumi supermarket could be demolished following the recommendation of a security audit report released by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA)

The buildings are deemed too near Wilson Airport, posing serious threat to passengers, crew and aircraft, says the report.

Security chiefs also fear the houses and commercial properties could be used as launchpads by terrorists on the airport.

The report brands as a danger houses in Phenom and Five Star estates as well as the Gulf Oil premises next to the airport.
