Five shot dead in botched robbery at Kilimani in Nairobi

Five suspected thugs were Friday morning shot dead by police in a botched robbery in a building along Kindaruma Road in Kilimani, Nairobi.
One injured suspect was arrested.
The operation is said to have started at around midnight after the suspects raided the Mumias Sugar Nairobi office premises at Top Plaza building.
Police DCIO George Ojuka said suspects tied two security guards outside the offices. However, one of the watchmen managed to secretly alert the police.
Several suspects escaped in a white Toyota Fielder vehicle, carrying away laptops and an unknown amount of cash, he said.
A pistol and tools used to break into the building were recovered.
