Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) have said they will not vacate office after the next General Election slated for August 2017.

They say their understanding of the Constitution is that they will leave office on March 4, 2018.

On Tuesday, County Assembly Forum chairman Abdi Nuh Nassir said they would not recognise any election done before then.

Dr Nuh has also criticised President Uhuru Kenyatta for not fulfilling a promise to give MCAs car grants. He says their work was being hampered by the lack of cars.
