Property destroyed in Gikomba market fire

Property of unknown value was destroyed Tuesday morning after fire razed stalls at Nairobi's Gikomba market.

According to Kenya Red Cross, the fire started at around 4.45am.

Efforts are on to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to other sections of the market.

The Nairobi City County has dispatched two fire engines to help contain the fire.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

Those affected include cloth and shoe vendors.
