Nearly 600 candidates will not sit for national examinations this year.
Kenya National Examinations Council acting chief executive officer Joseph Kivilu Thursday said 118 from 10 KCPE examination centres had been removed from the council’s registration database.
In addition, 453 Form Four students from nine examination centres would not be allowed to take the KCSE test because their centres had failed to clear exam fees by last Monday, he said.
NO RESPONSE

“We had informed the affected centres about the outstanding examination fee balances and advised them to pay or submit proof of payment but no response has been received to date,” Dr Kivilu said in a statement.

He said rehearsals for KCPE would be conducted on November 3 and examinations would begin the following day, when candidates would take Mathematics and English Language papers.
The last papers, Social Studies and Religious Education, will be taken on November 6.

He said 1,004 South Sudanese would be among the candidates for the final primary school tests. “Kauda Model Primary One will host 507 candidates while another 497 candidates will be hosted at Kauda Model Primary Two, both in South Sudan.”
