An Administration Police (AP) officer shot himself dead in Ongata Rongai, in the outskirts of Nairobi, on Sunday night.

The fatal shooting happened barely two weeks after another AP constable shot and seriously injured himself at Uhuru Camp in Mbagathi.

Police say AP Constable Moses Omondi was issued with a G3 rifle together with his colleague, AP Constable Samuel Mwanzia, on Sunday at around 9pm.

GUARD PCEA CHURCH

They were supposed to go and guard the Ongata Rongai PCEA church.

His colleague said that when they were leaving the Nakeel District Officer's camp, Constable Omondi excused himself to go back to his house to pick up something.

A few minutes later, his colleague heard a gunshot from his house.

Officers rushed to his house and found him lying down with a gunshot wound in his stomach and chest.

SPENT CARTRIDGE

He was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was pronounced death at around 10.10pm. Police recovered a spent cartridge in his house.

On August 12, an AP constable attached to the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency shot and seriously injured himself at Uhuru Camp.

Constable Evans Odhiambo went to Uhuru Camp at around 2pm and went to the latrine with his firearm.

His colleagues heard gunshots and rushed to the latrine, where they found him with injuries in his left eye and stomach.

His G3 rifle, with serial number 6699463, was recovered by his side. Also recovered was a spent cartridge.

STAB WOUNDS

Meanwhile, in Kiserian police found the body of a woman aged about 60 inside a sack and dumped under Emashio Bridge. The body had stab wounds in the back and chest, police said.

Elsewhere, in Huruma, Nairobi, police shot dead two suspects and recovered a home-made pistol.

Police claimed that the two were among six men who had been robbing residents near Mbuthia in Huruma when police were alerted
