An unknown gunman has shot and injured the driver of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu in Nairobi.

The driver, identified as Police Constable Titus Musyoka, was shot Tuesday evening outside Marsabit Plaza along Ngong Road.

Dagoretti OCPD Rashid Mohammed said the incident happened at 4.30pm and that Justice Mwilu was not in the car at the time.

He said the injured driver, who was shot in the shoulder, is being treated in a city hospital.

Mr Mohammed said police are treating the incident as a robbery but investigations are ongoing.

Scene of crime officers were Monday evening at the scene of the shooting.
