Detectives launch probe after man dies in police custody

Detectives are investigating the mysterious death in custody of a prisoner who was detained at Kayole Police Station in Nairobi.
Mr Daniel Onyango, 25, had on Tuesday been arrested by Kayole Administration Police officers for being drunk.
He was placed in custody but was found unconscious at around 6pm on Wednesday. He was then rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body was on Wednesday night transferred to City Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.

WATCHMAN SHOT DEAD
Meanwhile, gunmen shot a watchman dead at Parklands Estate in the city as he tried to help robbery victims on Wednesday night.
Three armed men attacked four students at the gate of Executive Ladies Hostels on 1st Avenue in Parklands and robbed them of their valuables.
Mr Mulei Nzovi, 55, who was guarding an apartment block on the road, rushed to help the victims.
He was, however, shot in the chest by the gunmen, who then escaped on foot.

TWO TEENAGERS ARRESTED
Elsewhere in Nairobi, two teenagers were arrested in Korogocho on Wednesday evening after they were found with a Browning pistol.
Brian Otieno Oganga, 19, and Judy Mola Akinyi were to be charged in court on Thursday morning, said Starehe OCPD Bernard Nyakwaka.
