Eight killed, two injured in Kisii accident

Eight people have been killed and two critically injured when a lorry collided with two cars at Etora near Sameta in Bobasi sub-county, Kisii County.

Three victims were rushed to Kisii Level Five Hospital where they were admitted.

Hospital chief executive officer Enoch Ondari confirmed that the three had been admitted, with two in critical condition .

"Three people have been admitted. Of the three, one has has pelvic injuries while the others have head injuries. They were the only survivors from the accident," Dr Ondari told Nation.

Police at the scene had a rough time getting through the crowd of onlookers at the scene of the accident.

Confirming the incident, Kisii Central Base Commander Francis Kithinji said that the two private vehicles collided with a lorry.

One of the vehicles was headed to Magena, near Nyangusu, Bobasi sub-County.

Mr Kithinji said that only three people survived the accident.
